We’ve Arrived – Konichiwa

Made it to Tokyo! Great flight, got our upgrade to Polaris class with lay flat seats, steak dinner, and Franciscan Cabernet wine! Life is good, especially for an 11 hour flight! Polaris class

Cleared customs in less that 20 minutes, got our bags, and headed out to the curb to look for our bus at Stop #16. Just so happened to be there when we walked out, checked our bags, found a seat and was at the hotel in 15 minutes. So fr, Tokyo has it over a lot of other places we’ve been. Fast, efficient, straight forward directions, pleasant people.

Checked into our room, yes, with a king bed! That’s a big deal here in Asia, most rooms have two twins or a double bed and a twin, very few with king beds. The only downside so far is the room heat was set at about 110F so had to make a bit of an adjustment.

The other thing was the table and chairs for our relaxation. Collette managed to be able to sit there but no was was I going to fit.  I could probably get under it, but getting back out would be a bit of Houdini-ism.

ColletteWe’re going to take a break in about 10 minutes to go to the Sky Bar on the 9th floor and check out the action. Probably have dinner here at the hotel and make it an early night. Our flight tomorrow departs at 1025am so we’ll hit breakfast here then shoot over to get checked in on Nepal Airlines for our trip to…wait for it…

Yep, we’re going to Kathmandu! I’ll let you know if we see Bob.

I know, short and sweet but I think that’s the way this trip is going to go. Anyway, more to follow tomorrow from Nepal.
