The New England Adventure Begins!
That’s right fans, we’re in New England for the Fall Foliage and a little sightseeing. Got to cut to the chase right away. We flew here on American Airlines, not one of the carriers we use often but they had a good price. Upon arriving in Albany, New York, our starting point for this adventure, we received a text message that said our bags were not on the same fight as we were. Huh?
Seems the 2.5hrs in Charlotte, NC were not enough for the ground crew to move our bags from Gate B2 to Gate B11. OK, we’ve dealt with delayed bags before so no big deal. We went to the Baggage Office only to be told to go back to the carousel and scan the QR code, complete the required information and we would get a status on our bags. Guess what! It said our bags were not on the same flight and would arrive 2.5hrs later on the 6:30pm flight from Charlotte, NC.
Back into the Baggage Office only to be told this time that they would deliver our bags later that night or the next day, AND “do not go out and buy a lot of stuff cause American won’t reimburse you.” OK.
Fast forward to 7:00pm… Received a call from Piedmont Baggage Service…”your bags won’t be delivered until next week”. WHAT? Yep, seems that if you are more than 50 miles from the airport, American says to ship the bags FedEx, and FedEx doesn’t come back to Piedmont for a week, by contract. No, can’t call FedEx; No, can’t drive them to you; No, there is no other way unless you want to drive back to the airport and pick them up yourself. That’s American’s policy, NOT Piedmont.
What a bunch of bullshit! American lost our bags and now says they won’t deliver them to us until next week. Today, we’ll drive back to the airport, get our bags, but believe me, this is not over!!!
Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear this!!
Dan said you guys are bad luck to travel with! LOL
On a serious note, I hope you get your bags back and everything else goes smooth on the trip.
Happy hour must be starting earlier these days!
