Headin’ back to Colorado
Well, after a month in Arid-zona, we’re heading back to God’s country, Colorado! It’s been fun here, played some golf, visited with friends and family, enjoyed the pool but now it’s time to get back home and enjoy Fall in the Rockies. It’s been a good trip, from seeing the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, morning hot air balloons in Sedona, golfing in the scorching hot weather in Scottsdale to pool time with the family and just relaxing. Oh, and can’t forget Old Town Scottsdale! Good trip!
Our reason for coming to Arid-zona was to check out the area, which I think we did, for possible retirement communities. We visited about 10-12 adult communities, 2 were worth seeing again, but not convinced this is for us. Most of the adult communities had all the amenities we were looking for, golf, pool, club house, restaurant, etc., but most were like subdivisions, some with over 7,000 homes! Much larger than we expected! Still, not going to totally discount the area, maybe another visit is in the future but for now our search will be in other states. Funny thing, now when we look at communities we look to see if there are services nearby, grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, dentist office, etc. Never considered those things before when looking at homes. Guess Collette is getting old!
So in last the last few days we’ve been enjoying the local restaurants, driving to some sites and attractions and just spending a little time reading by the pool or playing cards. Got a few pictures to capture our time here (yeah, mostly the grandkids!). Enjoy!
