Chamonix

We arrived at this little ski town early evening. Matt, our host, was waiting for us by the garage door to show us our parking space and how to get to the apartment. Really important to have a parking space with your apartment. Car parks can run as much as 20EUR per day!

After a quick check in, we settled in for a glass of wine and a bit of people watching from one of the balconies that faces the pedestrian area. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so we’re planning on doing a bit of laundry and planning out our adventure. I tried to send out my monthly newsletter but things got really crazy and somehow it sent my newsletter to everyone 9 times. Hope everyone understands I wasn’t spamming them.

Anyway, here’s pics of the apartment. We’re located on the second floor of a 5-story building facing the pedestrian area of Chamonix. It’s a big apartment, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, dining, living room, and 3 baths. Got a deal on the rate being September, otherwise we would be in a smaller place. AND, we have a garage.

Hopefully it won’t rain all day tomorrow and we can get out for a few pics of the town.

And yes, Chamonix has a ski jump for you thrill seekers!

And the rains came…

Well, when it rains in Chamonix, baby it rains! Torrential downpours with really loud thunder have been going on now for the better part of the morning. No gondola rides today with weather this bad. Tomorrow is forecasted to be pleasant and clear so that’s when we’ll head up the mountain.
