Sawaddeekab (also means goodbye) Thailand

The family leaves tomorrow so we said our goodbyes and had a nice dinner at the hotel. Collette and I always enjoy when family or friends join us on these adventures, there’s nothing like sharing good times!

Now we have another 12 days at the Hilton to hang out and enjoy the service before heading back to finish touring New Zealand, this time the North Island.

During those next few days we had a chance to celebrate the Thai New Year, Happy Songkran Day! Thai New Year celebration started on 13 April and went through 15 April. The tradition here is to spray or throw water on people as an act of good luck. Some rules do apply like no scalding hot water, no water in buildings and try to avoid soaking personal belongings (cameras, computers, phones, etc). Of course, the kids had a great time, like the ones in the back of this pickup truck shooting water at everyone. Got a moped driver pretty good! The hotel staff even got into the fun pushing each other into the pool!
