Ao Phang Nga National Park

Ao Phang Nga (pronounced, “Aye Oh Fang Nah”) National Park is an area that consists mostly of the limestone islands called “tower karsts” located in the Andaman Sea. Khao Phing Kan is one of the more popular islands within the park as it was used in the 1977 James Bond movie, “The Man with the Golden Gun”.

IMG_9489 (2)We booked our tour with Simba Sea Tours in Phuket. They operate a small yacht that takes about 15 people out to the national park. Our day will start with a hotel pickup around 610am and then an hour drive to the marina on the other side of Phuket island (yes, it is an island). There we board the boat, cruise for a while and then swim in caves, take a kayak around some islands and caves (with a driver-how cool is that!), swim some more, stop at Koh Yao Noi, a Muslim island for lunch, and then on to a private beach for mo’ swimming before heading back to the hotel. Not a bad agenda.
