The drive to Chamonix

Checked out of our AirBnB around 1015am and hit the road for Chamonix, just a short 5.5hrs from Dijon. Could get there quicker by using toll roads but no need, check-in is at 4pm so we have all day to get there. Besides, not using the toll roads does two things, one saves us about 50EUR, and two, takes us through the countryside and small villages you wouldn’t see from the toll road. A nicer drive.

Collette has made us a nice picnic lunch so somewhere along the journey we’ll stop for a break and hopefully a nice view. Just so happens that “somewhere” was in the mountains overlooking Lake Geneva with Mont Blanc in the background. Yep, better drive than the toll road!
