Arrived in Amsterdam

After a quick 4hr train ride, we made it to Amsterdam. Now all we had to do was find our way out of the train station and Uber our way to the canal boat we’ll call home for the next couple of days.

Not as cold here, about 400 but a bit more rain than Berlin. Tons of folks here at the train station, very popular mode of transportation, but not as popular as bicycles! Bikes are everywhere and stuffed into parking slots like records. How anyone finds their bike is a mystery to me.

My bike is the black one, fourth row up and to the right.

Made to the canal boat, with a little help from a neighbor who just happened to be walking his dog when we arrived at the wrong address. We were on the opposite side of the canal from our canal boat, but with his help, we soon found our boat and all was good.

The boat is permanently affixed to the dock, so “boat” may be a bit of misnomer. It has two bedrooms with king beds, a nice lounge area with a couch and TV (with Netflix!) and a dining area and kitchen. The bath had a separate shower that was American size!

IMG_0090 We’ll take some pictures of the outside tomorrow when it’s light, for now, time to unpack a bit then go out for dinner and grocery shopping.

And with that, Goede Nacht.
